Tomorrow is the Day!

This trip has been amazing!  I have learned so much!  I have been noticing some pretty weird stuff lately too.  It's almost like we aren't even riding anymore.  Ha we have doing this for about a month now and it just seems normal to me to wake up at 4:30 and spin all day.  Is that weird?  Time is going by so fast while we are on our bikes and I can't talk for everyone but I am starting to zone out while riding....  You could ask me 10 questions about anything we passed today and I would maybe get 1 right.  I have no clue where we are (on a map)  and it doesn't even matter anymore.  All we wanna see is the beach and I think that until we see it, we wont see anything else.  Except for big hills...  those are still visible.  Unfortunately.  Well!  Tomorrow will be the last post!  Talk to ya then!

We're not in Kansas anymore

Virginia.  Virginia Virginia Virginia.  Well.  It's our last state.  We are in Danville tonight.  Today was actually a pretty cool day because we are out of the Appalachian mountains for good!  Growing up in Utah I have always been told that The Appalachian mountains were small and basically "big hills" compared to the Wasatch.

I was sadly misinformed.....

They are much larger than everyone says they are!  And once you get to the top!  You just go down and back up!  For about 200 miles give er take a few!  Oh what a day it has been.  I also had 20 more chicken nuggets (for those of you tallying them all up).

2 days till it's all over!

Virginia!

Howdy yall!  We made it to Virginia!  400 miles till we are DONE!   Today was a pretty average day.  We woke up at hit the Cumberland Gap.  It was a huge tunnel!  Right through the mountain!  Then when we came out on the other side.  We were in Tennessee!  Then we went into Virginia about 5 minutes later!  Then back to Tennessee!  And we did this all day long!  So I'm honestly not sure what state we are in right now.  Oh well!  It's not the ocean so it just depresses me.  We have 4 days left or as Jerry says "3 days and a wake up".  I like this more because it seems like less.  But either way!  We still have alot of spinning to do!  Today we climbed!  Much climbing!  It was just up and down!  And whoever said they were just rolling hills never road these "hills" on a bike!  Because everything seems much larger when your doing it under your own power.  Oh well.  Gramps says it puts hair on my chest.

Is Kentucky really Lucky?

Hello world wide web!  Christian Lyman here! And I think that Kentucky is the most beautiful place in the world!  It's so much better than the desert!  But then again..... It's not hard to beat the desert...

We have been climbing a ton lately! Something about crossing over the Appalachian Mountains.  But who knows.   And I just realized that in the past 3 days I have eaten 75 chicken nuggets.  If you would like to hear the story.  Please text me.

People are so nice!  I have always seen the human race as kinda well... I dunno.  Some people just don't go out of there way to help strangers most of the time!  But here they do!  Everyone is so nice!  I pulled over at the car this morning to take my coat off and 2 different cars pulled over to see if I was alright.  I wanted to just ask for a ride to the coast but is that considered cheating?

So Grandpa thinks that everyone and their dog should know how great he is...  The other day we get to the hotel....  and he walks inside and the first thing he says to the person at the counter is "wanna know how far I rode my bike today?"  Talk about a Stud Muffin.  The next day he went to a grocery store to get some goodies but he forgot to grab one of his bags!  So we had to go back the store later that night.  We walk up to customer service and the first thing they ask us is if we are doing that bike think with the old guy!  I LOVE MY GRANDPA!

Here are some pics of the adventure.

Homestretch! Well..... kinda

These past  few days have been pretty exciting!  We started in Missouri yesterday!  Then we crossed the Mississippi into Illinois   Then we crossed the Ohio into Kentucky!  It was so cool!   Well.  That's about all that happened.  Oh!  But then I went exploring and found a cave!  Oh and Then it started to rain really hard!  Riding your bike in the rain is not very fun just just in case you were wondering.....  Well!  have a good night.  And stay classy San Diego!

This last one is from the bridge crossing the Mississippi.  It was a pretty cool experience.

I Wish I was In Disneyland

Hello!  Today was a pretty exciting day I'd say!  We had a reporter call us because there is going to be a story  about us in the Provo Harold!  Woot Woot!  Matthew's life goal of being famous is becoming a reality (or so he thinks).  Oh and other great news!  We got over the hills today!  It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of flat road, a nice shoulder, and a tailwind.  We finished the last 40 miles of our ride today in about 2 1/2 hours riding time!  It was awesome!

And the stories keep coming and coming!  Who knew old guys could have exciting lives!?!?!  I sure didn't!  But Gramps and Jear-Bear have seen it all!  Everything from gang fights in Compton California to fighting in Vietnam!

Because of popular request.....  I would like everyone to know that Matthew and I have received a gift from the heavens...  Legs of steel!!!

Talk to ya tomorrow!

Christian!

 Done with hills!
We eat hear at least 1 time every single day...

So there is a story behind this little turtle.  Eric murdered one the other day.....  So he decided to make it up to turtles everywhere by saving this one that was in the road.  It probably just went back into the road and died after we left...  but its the thought that counts right?
